Old Underwear

Image
It's not a secret that I have a fetish for underwear. During my birthday, friends often help me add to my monstrous collection. An easy gift option when you don't know what to get me. I seem to just collect and collect. When a pair is no longer serviceable, I will stuff it into my old underwear drawer. Recently, while stuffing a pair in, I noticed just how full the drawer was. LOL. No point hoarding all that old underwear. Might as well do some spring cleaning. Mostly were briefs and trunks from various brands like Private Structure, Renoma, Skinxwear, Hush Puppies, GMW, Byford, Toot, Aussiebum, etc. From years ago. Kinda like ageing cheese. :P. So I grabbed a hotel laundry bag and stuffed it all in. SimonLover suggested that I sell the stuff online, but I don't think anyone would want underwear with exhausted elastic bands. Rarely get any holes in my underwear, it's always the band. Maybe cause I often hand wash my intimates. Anyway, I tied up the bag and thew it out

BFF Day on Malaysia Day

Image
The market was kinda quiet during the Malaysia Day weekend. Less cars, more parking. Tell-tale signs of the coming Mid-autumn Festival was also evident with sale of mooncakes, pomelos, lanterns, and chu chai peng . I wouldn't say that the sale of those items were exceptionally brisk. Kinda expected with the current sluggish economy. During my Friday night paktor session with KH at Kuchai Entrepreneur's Park, we drove past Village Sang Nyuk Noodles . Recognized it from those sponsored posts on Facebook, Gourmet Hunter KL, I Love Malaysian Food, and it's many cousins. Decided to give it a try for my post-market breakfast stop. We ordered both varieties, the Sang Nyuk Noodles ( soup ) and Hakka Noodles ( dry ). If you're the the type who likes the broth porky, then this is the place for you. I disliked the Hakka Noodles because the sauce was too sweet. For MYR7, you get a good portion of sliced pork ( tender and smooth, but the texture is a bit too soft ), intestines, l

Sunday Spouse

I managed to talk KH into following me to morning mass on Sunday. I knew he was tired from all his activities on Saturday, and that he wasn't very keen, but he went along with it anyway. How can I not love the fella? Breakfast after church was another random choice-- 7th Mile Kitchen in PJ SS6. When we arrived, it was a full house with several people standing around waiting. We were lucky that we got a seat in just 15 minutes. The place is supposedly Klang Valley's best place for Sarawak hawker fare. So-called "Cat Tested, Cat Approved", which means that it has the seal of approval from Kuching-ites. For our breakfast, we had Mee Kolok and Sarawak Laksa . The Mee Kolok looked excellent with a very springy outlook. However, it was not the case when I put it into my mouth. Kurang sikit . However, the taste and the char siew was quite good. Sarawak Laksa was also delicious, but not as premium as at Charlie's Cafe . On our way back, we stopped at The Milk Sho

Nu in Ninety

During my Brunei trip, I actually made a major decision on my health-- I started taking Nu Skin ageLOC TR90 . The TR90 programme is Nu Skin's answer of over-hauling one's body and keeping one young through gene expression sience. KH took it a few months ago and I was very impressed by the results: KH chucked his size 34 pants for size 30. I had to go shopping with him several times after I noticed that his clothes were fitting him badly, but hey that's a hubby's job. KH completely shed his pear-shaped physique. That actually means that I no longer can sleep on his tummy, but I'm totally fine with that. KH had become more energetic, able to stay out late with being cranky. I also find that he no longer gets hangry attacks.  KH regained the 'sharp' face shape of his youth. It's like kissing the him from ten years ago. In terms of numbers on the Karada scan, KH's body age and visceral fat have both dropped dramatically.  Basically, the programm

Fighting for a Fortnight

For the second time, I was part of a task force to dissect the problems being faced by my client. What's the difference with the first time you may ask? The whole exercise was spearheaded by someone with different expertise and covered a broader scale. And of course, the ulterior motive was also different. The funny thing was, the first task force wasn't even closed yet, and here we were, part of another. Troublemakers coming in to 'save' the day. Anyway, the original schedule was two weeks, but we finished it in half the time. I was supposed to stay on anyway, but my CEO suddenly didn't like the idea of me being there. In my mind, its probably for strategic and budgetary reasons. I applied to get my ticket changed pretty late on Friday afternoon, so the ticketing department basically just ignored me. But my amazing GM actually managed to get things done. Believe it or not, I received my ticket after midnight. They must hate him so much. Since it was so late, my f

Once in a while, we would meet up with Gratitude and his mother over dinner. Arrangements were made by SK and we met at Papasan Canteen , Kuchai Lama. Thankfully, Gratitude was happy with the food and the prices. Mother Theresa also approved. Lucky for us, SK made a table reservation because the place was packed. The favourite of the night was the salmon mentai maki. Coincidentally, we also bumped into Vinz who was there with a group of friends. Turns out that Vinz knows the owners. Seeing that we know Vinz, the owners sent over free ice cream! Wow! The next time I go there, I definitely need to do some name dropping.

Crab Day, Crab Night

Image
It always amazes me what SK decides to bring back from her trips. During a recent Bangkok trip, she actually bought a packet of kway teow . She stir-fried it with chicken fillet and kale, and brought it over for breakfast. Later in the morning, we headed out to Midvalley Megamall as SK needed to get her luggage repaired. In our haste, we arrived even before the shutters were raised. Once she got her luggage sent in, we did some shopping. Always great to move around before the crowds set in. Mum and SK even did a free oxygen therapy from Elizabeth Arden. Too bad they couldn't squeeze a sale out of us. Lunch was at Define:food , a new restaurant opposite the now-defunct Tim Ho Wan. A word of warning, the place ain't very disabled friendly. Ascended a long flight of stairs with no bannister to access the air-conditioned area. Grabbed two things from the menu-- crab cakes and duck confit. The crab cakes were small, but bursting with crab meat. The pair of cakes were topped with a

The 60th National Day celebrations kicked off a super long weekend in Malaysia. SK suggested that we have breakfast together at Restoran Kim Kee , Kota Kemuning. Been a while since I visited that place and business has never been better. From my observations, their wantan noodles is the bestseller. I gave that a try a made a conclusion that those people don't know what a good plate of wantan noodles taste like! Well, they got the texture right, but those noodles left a horrible rusty aftertaste in my mouth. Normally that's a sign of too much preservatives in the noodles or bad cooking. And the char siew was was rough and dry. Yikes, I'll stick with Daniel Wantan Mee at OUG. SK want for their curry wantan noodles which was much better. The gravy was strong enough to mask the aftertaste. We also ordered cendol which looked fantastic. The cendol strands were long, and glistened a beautiful green. From the taste, it was obvious they used quality palm sugar. My only com

Woke up very early on Sunday morning to send mother out for her Bentong day trip. The original plan was for me to do a morning run with KH after dropping mum off, but that was called off due to the rain. Changed the plans and headed to 6:45 AM instead. Right after mass, I picked KH up and we went to breakfast together. The place was near his home, a kopitiam by the name of Restoran Leong Wei . We shared a plate of curry CCF with YTF. Not exactly a good choice for my scratchy throat, but it was worth it. Further treatment for my throat continued back at home. A very unconventional treatment involving a special delivery method, a suppository of sorts. LOL. If only all 'medical procedures' were so pleasurable. In the afternoon, we headed to Sunway Putra Mall for lunch. KH introduced me to Momo King , a Nepalese restaurant at the food court. Shared a bowl of soup momo ( Nepalese meat dumplings in a dhal-like soup ) and fried noodles. Once we had filled our bellies, we w

Who's Your Appa?

The rain on Saturday morning was so heavy that I woke up before my alarm rang. Undeterred, mum and I headed to the wet market anyway. At least half of the stalls half of the stalls in the open air section weren't open for business. Some vendors set up their stalls, but kept all their merchandise wrapped up to prevent water damage. Although there was less of a crowd, it was still an umbrella war when getting around. My breakfast was Penang white curry noodles but I found it a little too sweet. On the other hand, mum got herself a plate of chicken feet salad and roasted pork. In the afternoon, mum suggested that we go eat at Appa's Charitable Restaurant . The places serves an array of Indian food with a unique concept-- eat as much as you need, pay as much as you like. When you exit, just put money into the donation box. Years ago, Annalakshmi at Midvalley Megamall had a similar concept, but they collected money at the cashier where they would guilt trip you to pay more. Wh
